    The film Od 3 do 22 [From 3 am to 10 pm] was made by Croatian director Krešimir Golik in 1966, and is considered a classic of documentary film in the former Yugoslav region. The 1960s were a time of intellectual opening in Yugoslavia, and a new movement of film authors, known as the Yugoslav Black Wave, started to explore everyday societal problems and marginal subjects.

    Am 28. Oktober 1782 verhandelten die kirchlichen und weltlichen Räte des Konsistoriums der Erzdiözese Wien den Ehekonflikt von Regina Hoferin und Johann Karl Hofer. Von diesem und anderen Eheverfahren wissen wir, weil bei der „Tagsatzung“, wie die mündlichen Verhandlungen des Kirchengerichts genannt wurden, der Notar des Gerichts Protokoll führte und die Protokolle entweder als Rapulatur, das heißt als Abschrift für den Gebrauch, oder aber in Reinschrift und zu dicken Folianten gebunden im Archiv der Erzdiözese Wien erhalten sind. Die lokal adaptierten Regeln des romanisch-kanonischen Prozessrechts sahen auch beim vereinfachten summarischen Prozess – welcher in Ehekonflikten meist zur Anwendung kam –, eine Kombination aus schriftlichen und mündlichen Verfahrensschritten vor.     My essay focuses on the roles that girls have played in the history of European modernity. I will by pointing to various ways in which girls—referring very broadly here to unmarried female youth in their teens and twenties—figured in this history: as workers and consumers active in the construction of market capitalism in Europe, as figures in the liberal political economy that enabled its implantation, and as participants (at least at the margins) of specifically European constructions of modern selfhood.
