In den Präambeln europäischer Verträge zeigen sich Zusammenhänge zwischen der Geschichte der europäischen Integration und deren Recht. Die Präambel der Grundrechte-Charta der Europäischen Union sticht besonders heraus, da sie in Form und Inhalt von den übrigen europäischen Präambeln abweicht: Sie stellt die europäischen Völker an den Beginn und bezieht sich mehrfach auf Werte.
